Studio Hire Pricing
All gear is included—backdrops, lights, modifiers, stands and grip—at one consistent rate any day (7am–midnight). Each booking also includes 15 minutes of setup before your slot and 30 minutes of pack-down after, at no extra cost.

How To Book & Access BOHBAY Studio
Book online, get your access code, walk into a fully-equipped space.
- Check Availability Online: Pick a time in the live calendar and book.
- Unique Access Code: Sent 24 hrs before. Arrive 15 min early for setup.
- During Your Shoot: The studio is yours, use any included gear and backdrops.
- Need Extra Time? Extend in 1-hour blocks via the link we send (subject to availability). If no slots are open, please finish at your booked time.
- Pack down: After your slot, you have 30 min to pack up in additional to your booked time slot. Leave the space as you found it.
- Change of plans? $0 cancellation/reschedule up to 1 hour before start.

150cm Octabox - Included in Hire
A versatile light modifier that’s ideal for use as a key light. Its large size creates a soft, even light that wraps around the subject, perfect for products, portraits, and beauty shots.
Removing the front diffusion panel gives a slightly stronger, more defined light. The octagonal shape also produces a clean circular catchlight in eyes and reflective surfaces, which looks more natural than a standard rectangular softbox.
90cm Octabox - Included in Hire
A smaller version of the 150cm Octabox, this modifier creates a more focused, slightly harder light. It’s great for close-up portraits, beauty shots, or adding light to specific areas - like legs in a full‑length setup.
Its compact size also makes it a practical choice in tighter spaces or studios with lower ceilings, while still giving a soft, flattering result.
Constant Lights x 2 - Included in Hire
Small to medium white umbrellas are extremely versatile - they can bounce light for a softer feel or aim directly at your subject for a bit more contrast.
They create soft, flattering light with smooth shadows, ideal for products, portraits, or as a fill light. Lightweight and quick to set up, they’re a flexible choice for almost any shoot.
Strobe x 2 + Wireless Trigger - Included in Hire
A bare strobe produces strong, hard light with crisp shadows and bright highlights - think paparazzi or high-contrast fashion shots. For best results, position your camera close to the base of the strobe to minimise harsh angles.
5-in-1 Circular Reflector - Included in Hire
This foldable reflector is incredibly versatile, offering multiple surfaces to bounce, diffuse, or block light. It’s especially handy outdoors to soften shadows under the nose and eyes or enhance catchlights. In the studio, it can even replace a V-flat by clamping it to a C-stand for side fill.
Scrim - Included in Hire
A scrim is a large frame with diffusion fabric, used to soften or reflect light. Moving the strobe closer or further from the scrim gives you control over light softness and intensity. Thicker white fabrics can also double as large reflectors or on-location V-flats, useful both indoors and outdoors.
V-Flats / Polyboards - Included in Hire
Made from two panels of foam board joined into a “V,” these are essential for controlling light and shadow. The white side reflects light; the black side absorbs it, adding depth and contrast.
They’re also versatile as quick backdrops for tighter portrait crops.
Card Stock - Included in Hire
Black and white card stock is a lightweight, portable option for blocking or shaping light when V-flats aren’t practical. Black card can be cut into shapes to create creative light patterns - an inexpensive way to experiment with textures and shadows.
C-Stands - Included in Hire

Our studio is located within a small industrial estate off Bay Road. Go through the lane between storage king and Cosh Living then turn left. You'll see a large number 14 - this is us.
Many clients will combine natural light with studio lights to shape the look they want. Whether you're shooting beauty, fashion or ecommerce, you can create your ideal lighting setup inside.
Natural concrete textures, high ceilings and quiet surrounds create an inspiring space for long shoot days. There's a dedicated dressing room, lots of storage and a comfy lounge area if you need to pause between shots.
We've also styled the space to be content-friendly - which means it often doubles as a shoot location itself.
There's a large 4.5m cyclorama, multiple backdrop options, natural light, and enough space for crew setups, making it a great all-rounder.
